Since the beginning of 2021, the Philanthropy Network for Social Justice has been dedicated to structuring and developing the Donate to Transform Program. We have already shared here the beginning of these movements in the contributions of Graciela Hopstein and Betina Sarue in the articles “The Network announces a new program with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Giving for Change Program” It is “Building the Donate to Transform program”. In these texts, the authors present the program and define its main objective: “[…] promote community philanthropy and social justice as a strategy to achieve community-led development, strengthening the demand for rights.”
As part of the program's actions, we are pleased to launch two fundamental activities for the Network's communication and knowledge production: the institutional website now also available in English and the launch of the “Donate to Transform” Seal for publications. With the translation of the institutional website, we intend to expand the Network's voices, seeking to strengthen community philanthropy and socio-environmental justice and enabling exchange dialogues and capacity strengthening also with international partners.
In this sense, bearing the same name as the program, the “Donate to Transform” seal seeks to create a space for reflection and debate through the production of publications that promote community philanthropy and social justice as a strategy to achieve community-led development, strengthening the demand for rights, focusing on political minorities. The seal aims to cover working materials, publications on theoretical debate, capacity building and sharing of experiences, with free access and distribution and with translation into other languages.
