Welcome to the Comuá Network!

COVID-19

The member organizations of Comuá Network played a pivotal role during the Covid-19 pandemic. They strategically facilitated the donation per direct and indirect resources. This was achieved by promoting broad campaigns, leveraging their extensive network and national reach, with a particular focus on reaching the most vulnerable populations. Additionally, these organizations actively engaged in the production of knowledge and the dissemination of strategic information to inform critical decision-making processes.

This action was strengthened by Rede Comuá's Strategic Support Program, in the call for actions to combat Covid-19. This support began in 2020 and involved the donation of 207 thousand reais, to nine member organizations that presented proposals.

The initiatives we supported were aimed at combating COVID-19 through the following action areas:

Member Organizations' Pandemic Response Areas

EMERGENCY FUNDS AND DONATIONS

Mobilizing actors, donors, and resources for implementing direct actions with organizations and grassroots groups.

LOCAL MOBILIZATION AND DONATION CAMPAIGNS

Mobilization of actors, donors and resources to carry out direct actions with grassroots organizations and groups

COMMUNICATION AND KNOWLEDGE

Information campaigns, news portals, and data analysis studies.

The great difference of these supports is their ability to swiftly and effectively reach civil society initiatives, even though the amount of donations isn’t comparable to the vast resources mobilized by big fortunes, companies and Brazilian philanthropists.

Ensuring that these resources quickly reach grassroots communities and strategic actors engaged in combating COVID-19 represents a significant transformative power. Additionally, it acknowledges their established expertise in resource mobilization. These resources also have a substantial multiplier effect, as they can amplify and enhance other initiatives involving local strategic actors, such as community donation campaigns.
