The Casa Socioambiental Fund opens a call for projects to support organizations from traditional and local communities in the Legal Amazon: quilombola, riverside, indigenous, extractivist populations, family farmers, among other communities that protect forests through sustainable lifestyles and their actions protection and combating deforestation. The call is part of the global initiative Alianza Socioambiental Fondos del Sur, which brings together independent socio-environmental funds from the Global South, founded and led locally. The Casa Socioambiental Fund, founded in 2005, is one of these Local Funds, and since 2019 it has played a leading role in the formation of the Alianza.
33 projects worth up to R$35 thousand each will be supported. The total value of the call amounts to more than R$1 million. The notice's coverage area encompasses the forest regions in the States of Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia, Roraima, Pará, Maranhão, Amapá, Tocantins and Mato Grosso.
