The Brazilian Human Rights Fund, with the support of Climate Works/CLUA, Fundação Oak and Porticus, invites civil society organizations to present proposals to strengthen their institutional capacities related to the protection and comprehensive security of human rights defenders in the national territory .

This call seeks to encourage an institutional culture that prioritizes the safety and well-being of people who defend rights in Brazil, making the organizational and political environment safer and healthier for their actions. Support will be aimed at the development and adoption of effective comprehensive security and self-protection measures.

We will prioritize organizations that operate in higher risk contexts in the country and that have little access to financial resources. We also value action based on racial, ethnic, gender and sexual orientation dimensions, including in an intersectional way, considering the multiple human rights violations in Brazil.

SUBMISSION PERIOD
Proposals can be sent between August 18 and September 29, 2023, until 6 pm (Brasília time). Up to 20 proposals will be supported, with values of up to R$60,000.00 each, for a period of 12 months.
